Renaissance of Uzbek painting art

At the beginning of the 19th-20th centuries fine arts started to revive. Progressives began paying attention to fine arts and strived for using their possibilities in propaganda and enlightenment. Having learned how to paint pictures freely, they tried to use them in decorating their own articles and poems, and to put different views on paper that they had imagined.

Particularly, those progressives who were also called as Jadids paid а particular attention to the possibilities of fine arts. The pictures they drew with Indian ink, pencils and pens were published in newspapers and journals during these years. Local youth began taking courses in art and design by observing and reproducing the pictures which had been published in them.
